Hi! I hope you’re having a wonderful Monday.
If you are reading this, it is because you are one of the 700+ people that decided to subscribe to this newsletter. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
I realised I never took the time to introduce myself or the book club, and you might be a bit confused as to what’s going on here.
My name is Linda, and I am the founder of the Difficult Women Book Club. The club started in Barcelona, where I am based, as a way to meet likeminded people, and since then it expanded to cities all around the world. The book club is based on community and in real life meetings, so if you haven’t yet I would highly recommend to check out all of our book clubs HERE! Please remember that if there are no book clubs where you live, you can always start your own - just DM me on Instagram HERE.
August was a wonderful month for the clubs around the world! From Dubai to Seattle, people took the time to come together and discuss Yellowface by R.F. Kuang.
So far I have used Substack as a way to share think pieces about different themes that come up with the books. I wrote about pregnancy for Boulder, beauty and power for Evelyn Hugo and Magical Thinking for Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. However, I do believe there’s a lot more that could be done. If you have any requests or ideas for what you would like to see from me, feel free to share it below - I am always looking for suggestions and ways to make this better!
Here is a recap of all the meetings we have had in August. It’s always incredible to see people come together like this. I truly believe it’s magic!
And please let’s welcome all the new clubs that have started last month!
